The piece

Bringing archaeological interest to lighting, the Fiume sconce is inspired by the semi-precious stones found on statues in the ancient city of Persepolis. A slab of marble is pierced by a finely fluted brass pin, affixed to a bound brass structure — as elegant as a pair of earrings, and twice as impactful when hung as a pair.

Bulb not included. Requires an E26 or E27 base bulb. We recommend a warm white (2700K) dimmable LED at 4–6W for the most flattering tone against the brass and marble. Pair with a TRIAC-compatible dimmer for adjustable ambience.


Installation
  • Hardwired wall installation — a licensed electrician is recommended.
  • Fits a standard single-gang wall box. All mounting hardware is included.
  • Handle the marble accessory with care during install — natural stone can chip at the edges.
  • For a paired arrangement, mount both sconces at equal centre height and space 60–90 cm apart.

FAQ
Will my marble look exactly like the photos? +

No — and that's by design. Natural marble varies in veining, grain, and tonal depth from slab to slab. Your piece will share the overall colour family shown (black, white, brown, or green) but the pattern will be unique to your unit.

Is the lamp dimmable? +

Yes. Install a dimmable bulb (E26 or E27 base) and pair with a TRIAC-compatible wall dimmer for smooth dimming.

Which bulb do you recommend? +

A warm white (2700K) dimmable LED at 4–6W in E26 or E27 base. Frosted or opal bulbs give the softest glow. Avoid daylight or cool-white bulbs, which fight the brass's warm tone.

Can I order it as a pair? +

Yes — the Fiume is designed to work beautifully as a pair, flanking a mirror, bed, or artwork. Order two units of the same marble colour for a matched set, or mix colours for a more eclectic pairing.

How do I clean it? +

Dust the brass and marble with a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasive pads, glass cleaner, or acidic household cleaners (vinegar, citrus) — these can etch natural stone and strip the brass finish.

Brass

Solid, not plated. It warms and darkens with handling unless it is lacquered, and that is rather the point of it.

Marble

Cut, not cast. The block decides the veining, so no two are alike.

Care & delivery

Looking after it

Dust with a soft dry cloth. Stone, plated and painted finishes dislike solvents and abrasives, so keep both away from them; glass takes a lint-free cloth and a little glass cleaner. Solid brass is left unlacquered on most pieces and will warm and darken with handling, which is the material behaving as it should rather than a fault. Switch a fixture off and let it cool before cleaning it.

Who makes it

This piece is manufactured for Elio Marchetti by Radilum, our production partner for the collection.

We are a lighting house rather than a factory. We select the pieces, specify the finishes and the stone, and hold the relationship with the maker, and we would rather tell you that plainly than leave it unsaid. Questions about the manufacture of a specific fixture are welcome and we will answer them.

Delivery

Allow 28 to 43 business days from order to arrival, roughly six to nine weeks. Most of the collection is made to order, so that time covers the piece being built in the finish and size you chose, checked, packed and shipped. The same window applies wherever you are.

Shipping is free to Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, with no minimum order.

Returns

You have ten days from receiving a piece to have it on its way back to us, under way inside those ten days rather than simply flagged with us on the tenth. Return postage on a change of mind is yours, there is no restocking fee, and the outcome is a refund to your original payment method rather than store credit. Made to order pieces return on the same terms as stock. Contact us before sending anything back.

Damaged or faulty on arrival

Separate from an ordinary return, and a longer window: twenty days from receipt to report it. Tell us before you send anything, keep the packaging until we have answered, and photographs of both the fault and the box help. Where a piece is faulty, damaged in transit or not what you ordered, we cover the return postage.

Installation

Any hardwired fixture should go in with a licensed electrician. Where a piece has particular requirements, a sloped ceiling, a chain that can be shortened, a specific socket, they are listed further up this page.
