The piece

Iron Arms · Carved Wood Base · Candle Style

A two-light wall sconce in pared-back French country style. Two slim iron arms rise from a hand-carved wooden medallion, crossing at the base before sweeping outward to support a pair of candle stems and bobeche cups. The geometry is simple but the gesture is elegant — like a piece pulled from an old chapel and brought into a modern interior.

The iron is finished in dusted vintage gold with naturally aged spotting; the wood medallion wears a softly distressed old-white patina. Together, the two materials read as quiet, lived-in, and unmistakably hand-finished.

Each piece is hand-finished. The vintage-gold iron and old-white wood are both finished by hand, so subtle variation in patina, distress pattern, and tonal depth is part of the character. No two units are identical.

Is the wood base real wood? +

Yes — the medallion at the base is hand-carved from genuine wood, finished in distressed old white. The carving and patina are applied by hand, so the texture, depth of distress, and grain pattern vary slightly between pieces.

What bulb does it take? +

Each of the two candle heads takes one E12 (North America) or E14 (EU/UK/AU) candelabra bulb — the smaller socket size used in chandeliers and candle-style fixtures, not standard E26/E27. Up to 25W per socket. We recommend warm white (3000K) LED candelabra bulbs. Bulbs not included.

Can I order it as a pair? +

Yes — this sconce is often installed in pairs flanking a mirror, fireplace, or headboard. Just order two units. For matched-batch finish consistency on larger orders (4+ units for hallways or hospitality), contact us first.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo? +

The silhouette and finish character will match the photographs, but because both the iron patina and wood distressing are hand-applied, the precise pattern of color and wear varies between units. Yours will be one-of-a-kind — that's intentional and part of the antique aesthetic.

Care & delivery

Looking after it

Dust with a soft dry cloth. Stone, plated and painted finishes dislike solvents and abrasives, so keep both away from them; glass takes a lint-free cloth and a little glass cleaner. Solid brass is left unlacquered on most pieces and will warm and darken with handling, which is the material behaving as it should rather than a fault. Switch a fixture off and let it cool before cleaning it.

Who makes it

This piece is manufactured for Elio Marchetti by Radilum, our production partner for the collection.

We are a lighting house rather than a factory. We select the pieces, specify the finishes and the stone, and hold the relationship with the maker, and we would rather tell you that plainly than leave it unsaid. Questions about the manufacture of a specific fixture are welcome and we will answer them.

Delivery

Allow 28 to 43 business days from order to arrival, roughly six to nine weeks. Most of the collection is made to order, so that time covers the piece being built in the finish and size you chose, checked, packed and shipped. The same window applies wherever you are.

Shipping is free to Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, with no minimum order.

Returns

You have ten days from receiving a piece to have it on its way back to us, under way inside those ten days rather than simply flagged with us on the tenth. Return postage on a change of mind is yours, there is no restocking fee, and the outcome is a refund to your original payment method rather than store credit. Made to order pieces return on the same terms as stock. Contact us before sending anything back.

Damaged or faulty on arrival

Separate from an ordinary return, and a longer window: twenty days from receipt to report it. Tell us before you send anything, keep the packaging until we have answered, and photographs of both the fault and the box help. Where a piece is faulty, damaged in transit or not what you ordered, we cover the return postage.

Installation

Any hardwired fixture should go in with a licensed electrician. Where a piece has particular requirements, a sloped ceiling, a chain that can be shortened, a specific socket, they are listed further up this page.
